Dillema Blu-ray (US)
Universal Studios | 2011 | 112 min | Rated PG-13 | May 03, 2011
Director Ron Howard (Splash) returns to his comedy roots with The Dilemma, a deft screwball drama-comedy with a decidedly modern spin. Costars Vince Vaughn (Ronny) and Kevin James (Nick) manage to be funny as well as poignant--and their "bromance" is one of the most touching and believable relationships on the big screen. The supporting cast is top-notch too. Jennifer Connelly, effortlessly lovely and graceful, plays Beth, Ronny's girlfriend. Winona Ryder, who makes a welcome return to film, plays Nick's wife, Geneva. "The dilemma" of the title occurs when Ronny sees Geneva with another man. Should he tell his best friend his wife is cheating on him? And what's the best time to drop a bombshell like that on someone you love?

Special Features
The Green Hornet features a nice assortment of extra goodies, headlined by several featurettes and an audio commentary track. - The Green Hornet Cutting Room: A supplement that allows users to cobble together their own The Green Hornet clips and share them online.
- Audio Commentary: Actor/Producer Seth Rogan, Producer Neal Moritz, Director Michel Gondry, and Writer Evan Goldberg deliver a hearty, sometimes humorous commentary that covers a wide swath of topics, including an honest look at what works and what doesn't (scenes that run too long for instance), the casting process and alternate choices for various parts, shooting locales and set construction, the long process in getting a Green Hornet adaptation to the screen, and plenty more. Despite the larger number of participants, this track never really derails, offering listeners an interesting and oftentimes contagious look into the making of the movie.
- Deleted Scenes (1080p, 26:33): See Yourself Out, The Big Fence, Filer Up, Dickweed, Britt's Pokerface, Taking a Punch!, Burning Down the House, Influencing Scanlon, and Let's Roll Kato.
- "Awesoom" Gag Reel (1080p, 7:18).
- "Trust Me" -- Director Michael Gondry (1080p, 9:33): Cast and crew discuss Director Michael Gondry's style, his eye for action, and the technical process of creating some of the more intricate sequences.
- Writing The Green Hornet (1080p, 10:35): Writers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen discuss the core of the story, the writing process and fleshing out ideas, and making what amounts to an "anti-Superhero movie."
- The Black Beauty: Rebirth of Cool (1080p, 7:17): Rebuilding the series's famous 1965 Imperial for the new movie.
- The Stunt Family Armstrong (1080p, 7:39): An introduction to the family of stunt choreographers who lent their talents to the film.
- Finding Kato (1080p, 6:00): A look at the casting of Jay Chou.
- The Art of Destruction (1080p, 14:04): A detailed examination of how Hollywood destroys buildings and sets for movies.
- Previews (1080p): Additional Sony titles.
- BD-Live.
- The Green Hornet PS3 Theme.
- Alternate Ending (HD; 5:34) consists of a longer scene between Vaughn and Connelly which already exists in an edited version toward the end of the film.
- Deleted Scenes with Optional Introduction by Director Ron Howard (HD; 44:39). Howard explains how the first cut was very long and a number of "interesting" things had to be cut. What actually becomes apparent from these seven segments, most of which still exist in the film in edited form, is that there needed to be even more cutting. A lot of this stuff seems like simply riffing by Vaughn and James and it really doesn't amount to much.
- Gag Reel (HD; 4:42). It's kind of sad that watching Vaughn walking into camera or James repeatedly cracking up is funnier than most of the film.
- This is The Dilemma (HD; 13:45). Looking for someone to blame? Evidently it's Howard's producing partner Brian Grazer, who brought up the premise of The Dilemma at a dinner party. This is pretty standard EPK fare with interviews and snippets from the film.
- Tour Chicago (HD; 12:17). This is an odd little featurette which starts with a brief introduction about how important Chicago was to the "real" feel of the film, and then defaults to a menu of four locations you can explore, one of which isn't even an actual location (Ronny and Beth's apartment, hosted by production designer Daniel Clancy). For the record, the three real locations are Garfield Conservatory, The United Center and the Green Mill Bar.
- On Ice (HD; 4:48). Howard talks about shooting the film's final scene at The United Center and also how much fun it was to be there a week after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.
