Special Features

  • Audio Commentaries: Like the season thirteen set, this releases comes with a whopping—some might say overwhelming— 22 audio commentaries. Yes, one for each episode. Matt Groening leads four of the tracks, and the rest are hosted by an assortment of producers, writers, and animators, with occasional guest stars like Tony Hawk and "Weird Al" Yankovic. As you'd expect from the makers of The Simpsons, there's a lot of laughter, much wise-cracking, and rarely a dull moment.
  • A Haunting Invite from Matt Groening (1080p, 2:12): Series creator Matt Groening lists off what makes this season so great.
  • In the Beginning (SD, 12:43): A collection of the opening sequences of the Treehouse of Horror episodes, up to season fourteen.
  • It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (SD, 9:05): A nice behind-the-scenes piece on the "How I Spent My Strummer Vacation" episode, with lots of great footage of Keith Richards smoking and goofing off in the recording booth.
  • Sketch Gallery I (1080p, 2:14): Preliminary sketches for "How I Spent My Strummer Vacation."
  • The 300th Episode - Barting Over (SD, 1:56): A short piece about the airing of the 300th episode, featuring interviews with Matt Groening and guest stars Tony Hawk and Blink 182.
  • Sketch Gallery II (1080p, 2:14): More preliminary drawings.
  • The Halloween Classics (SD, 8:18): A collection of classic THOH moments.
  • Bonus: Treehouse of Horror V (SD, 22:53): Nice bonus! This episode features an opening section that parodies The Shining.
  • Deleted Scenes (1080p, 11:06): With introduction and optional commentary by Al Jean. Also note that certain episodes are viewable with the deleted scenes re-inserted.
  • Animation Showcase: Moe Baby Blues (1080p, 5:26): With your remote, toggle between storyboards and animatics.
  • Special Language Feature: Three Gays of the Condo: Watch the whole episode in either Portuguese, German, Czech, or Italian.
  • Foolish Earthlings (SD, 3:44): A montage of appearances by Kang and Kodos, the two aliens who show up in all the "Treehouse of Terror" episodes.
  • Bonus: Treehouse of Horror VI (SD, 22:48): This episode, which aired in 1995, is most notable for its third section, in which Homer gets stuck in a 3D CGI world.
  • Booklet: Inside the Blu-ray case you'll find a 30-page booklet with a note from Matt Groening and descriptions of each episode.
